Irish band City Victim are wrestling with a dilemma: how to move forward and not lose who you are. If nothing else this ambiguity and self imposed torture has been the muse for many a top tune.
‘Screaming’ bears it’s troubles on its sleeve in a wonderfully dark and dense sound. There are moments of The Cure’s dense dystopia mixed with a little of The Smiths’ jingle-jangle. City Victim have taken the cream of the 80’s and created a sound that is simultaneously nostalgic and fresh. A vibrant mix of old and new allied to a crafted vocal and haunting backing vocals.
