Sydney musician Hedy Blaazer has released new single ‘A Happy Song’. It’s an indie folk track full of power and emotion.
The full power of the music hits you like a dramatic soundscape. It starts with just a guitar and the stunning vocal of Blaazer before being joined by a violin and once the drums kick in everything turns up a notch. The violin adds a nice melancholic touch which fits well with the downbeat lyrics of the song. It also adds a slight country vibe.
The standout part of the song is Blaazer’s vocals though. They are simply sublime at portraying the pain in the song. The twang of her accent adds charm and a honesty to her voice. In an era that is full of great music coming out of Australia Hedy Blaazer looks like being another name to add to the list.
