Immediately this track gave me a mix of Hozier/London Grammar sweetness. The soft guitar and beautiful harmonies really give the song true emotion. ‘A Little Closer’ makes you think of your person, the softness of the vocals really reflects that feeling of how everything fades away when you’re together & you don’t want that time to end.
I love how this song is sung a little like a duet, the sultry vocals add beautiful depth and warmth to an emotional song. Jessie Reid’s voice really amplifies the simple, catchy chorus – I am already singing along to it after listening once! Jessie Reid and Easymess tell the story of a relationship in a really calm and moving way, with beautiful guitar patterns and a real indie folk sound.
