20 For 20 is a new feature where I look back at 20 of my favourite things that has happened in the music world in 2020.
Continuing with the fundrasing theme from yesterday’s 20 For 20 post another musical highlight of this year was our second annual Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid fundraiser at The Sunflower Lounge. We did the first one in 2019 at Actress & Bishop and moved to the ‘Sunny’ for this years. Both events coincided with International Women’s Day.
A fun night was had by all with live performances from The Sunset Beach Hut, Glass Ceilings, Fawner, Graywave & Shanghai Hostage and we were able to raise £160 for a very important local cause.
Due to the current uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 it’s very possible we will have to do 2021’s fundraiser on a different date to International Women’s Day as we likely still won’t be back to a normal non social-distacing situation with live music. But even if we do have to do it later in the year it will be worth it to help Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid out.
