Piss Kitti – Turn You Over (Keep On Comin’ On)

Piss Kitti

Liverpool-quartet, and former Indie Midlands headliners, Piss Kitti are back with new single ‘Turn You Over (Keep On Comin’ On)’. The track is the first release from upcoming debut EP ‘For The Lovers’ which is out on March 19th.

So if you are a fan of Piss Kitti and are about to have your first listen to ‘Turn You Over…’ you are probably ready to fling yourself around your room to the fast punk overtones of the music, but you are going to be in for a surprise. In their own words Piss Kitti have gone “soppy”.

‘Turn You Over…’ is a nostalgic trip back to the US college indie pop/rock of the 1990’s. A combination of bands like Throwing Muses, The Breeders, Helium etc. Back when MTV played music they used to have a show called 120 Minutes, which was two hours of music from the indie scene of the time, and ‘Turn You Over…’ is a track I can imagine being sandwiched between something like ‘Monkey Gone To Heaven’ by Pixies and ‘Freak Scene’ by Dinosaur Jr.

It’s a much softer track than what we have come to expect from Piss Kitti, a lot more melodic, even cutesy at times with the vocals. But it’s catchy as fuck. And it’s a nice change of pace from the fourpiece. But if you are worried that the Piss Kitti you knew and loved have gone, then don’t worry, we’ve heard the rest of the EP and it’s a lot more riotous and faster paced.
