Canadian born, New York based singer/songwriter Jenny Kern today releases new single ‘Now We Know’.
According to Kern the song is “about the disappointment and acceptance of a relationship ending. While it hurts and you know there were mistakes involved, it’s about coming to terms with the fact that it’s over but also gaining a sense of relief that you have closure.”
With that in mind it’s no surprise that ‘Now We Know’ is tinged with melancholy. There is a really uplifting lead guitar hook though that stops the song feeling too sad and Kern’s tender vocals float beautifully on top of the music.
This is a sad song without being too sad. A song to reminisce to but not to get too down about.
