‘A Sigh, A Shiver’, the new single by Swedish band Bored Man Overboard is five minutes plus of epic atmospheric soundscape. Slowly building shoegaze guitars mix with strings to create a song that is truly lush.
There is so much going on musically in ‘A Sigh, I Shiver’, but then again when you consider the band are a seven-piece there’s a lot of instruments to go around. Some times too much can really be too much, but the septet have nailed it perfectly here. Piano, horns, it’s all there. It kind of reminds me of a shoegaze version of Tindersticks.
