Birmingham’s latest exports Alice Lily have released their alternative flared single ‘Darlin”.
Off the bat, the single bursts into life with nothing short of a roaring guitar part. It must be said that the drumming is the most interesting part of this particular single, giving the track an interesting and lively attitude to keep up with.
Formed in 2021, Alice Lily have drawn a wide range of influences from Crawlers, Beabadooobee and Cavetown. The latest single does seem to draw some similarities to Wet Leg and Porridge Radio however as simpler, melodic riffs champion intricate and difficult guitar parts and scales. Impressively, the single was written, recorded and finalised all on the same day – so hats off to them for being able to produce such a quality single in that short time frame!
‘Darlin” drowns itself out with a beautiful, peaceful instrumental which does seem rather fitting despite the hectic, aggressive nature of the song itself.
Alice Lily seem to be a promising band that potentially could be capable if they can keep up this solid drive they seem to be on. Keep an eye on them!
