Skinny Living Coming To Hare & Hounds

Sunday April 26th – 7:30pm to 11pm

Skinny Living

Skinny Living are a three-piece from Wakefield who write soulful music that naturally taps into the everyday emotion of life, songs that come from a real place.

Meeting at an open-mic night, Skinny Living have the sort of musical chemistry that can only ever happen by chance. After a few years of writing together and honing their live performance in intimate settings, they have connected deeply with their die-hard fanbase, who relate to them and their heart-on-sleeve realness.

They write what they know about with a sound that takes in blue collar-soul, rousing anthems and arresting balladry that manages to sound both epic and personal at the same time; a northern soul music for our times. Johnston, Will Booth (guitar) and Danny Hepworth (guitar) met at an open mic night and soon began collaborating, realising there was a natural chemistry between them. Johnston says they write music that taps into the everyday emotion of life, songs about “family, people, life, struggle”.

Family is often at the centre of Skinny Living’s music, one reason, perhaps, why their songs have evoked such an emotional connection with fans.
